TABADOL is aimed at industry professionals such as established and experienced producers, filmmakers, distributers, festivals' representatives and TV commissioning editors among others. The general objective of TABADOL is to connect both the regional and Arab professionals with the international industry players in a professional platform. It is a room for networking and promoting projects and finished titles alike and to link producers, distributors, TV channels and funds, with young documentary filmmakers. 

 Alternative Solutions is the highlighted theme in this year's activities

This year DOX BOX Professional Activities' team is working towards providing solutions when discussing the general situation of production & distribution in the region. A variety of activities are organized to widen the perspective of opportunities ahead independent filmmaking for young filmmakers.

DISTRIBUTION FORUM ----------------------------------------------------
"Distributing in Arabic-speaking countries: Woman Films as a case study"

A) Panel Discussion "Distribution or Co-production"
Introduction of the current situation of producing and distributing of documentary in the Arab media.
An overview on the exchange between Europe & the Arabic-speaking industries.  A debate about alternative solutions for promoting, distributing, financing, and production. Influence of new techniques on the future of distribution and financing documentary filmPanelists are being confirmed.
Panel consists of representatives from: 3 regional TVs, 1 European TV, 1 International Festival and one regional producer/distributor. 

B) Thematic Distribution Programs "Woman Films Case Study"

3 Distributors from the region will present their mechanism of work, challenges of selling and soliciting films. A distribution program "WOMAN" will be presented by Proaction Film of creative documentary films with focus on women subjects relevant to Arab societies. Buyers and programmers will participate in the discussion on limitations & opportunities. 

NEW PROJECT ------------------------------------------------------------

A presentation of the documentary film projects from the region. Backed-up with their consultant, filmmakers from the Campus workshop "Writing the Documentary" will have the chance to present their projects and discuss them with International industry professionals. It is not a pitching session rather a room to navigate financing and selling opportunities in an non-intimidating process. It is a chance for distributers, producers and TV representatives to discover new projects and talents.

Archive in Documentary
The use of archive in documentary is commonly escorted with history and dull form. However, archive was a driving force for making impressive films! The Polish director Maciej Drygas whose film “Hear My Cry” was screened in the last edition of DOX BOX 09, will share with us his vision and experience in the creative use of archive, including the use of personal archive.    

NETWORKING ACTIVITIES-------------------------------------------------

Networking is an annual must at DOX BOX. TABADOL, TAKWEEN, CAMPUS and PRESS participants in addition to our accredited and invited guests have the chance to get gather in pre-arranged professional activities forming a relaxed International documentary community. Some of the confirmed activities are:        

Blind Date
DOX BOX Professional Activities team will arrange for anonymous couples to meet over dinner. An initiative to facilitate and animate mutual interest and future collaborations. 

Cup(s) of coffee
Away from the formal normal sessions, a morning Syrian tradition of a "talk and a warm cup of coffee" would make professionalism even better. Our guests are invited for cups of coffee with professionals to discuss various topics including films, production, distribution, rights.. .  

TABADOL is targeted towards regional and international doc industry professionals, including but not limited to TV commissioning editors, producers, distributors filmmakers, programmers, film critics and journalists, film students, and including TAKWEEN & Campus participants.
